Stalling before crossing the Salt Flats

My Expedition Fleet, at your service
pathfinder%2520Oct%25204%25202004.jpg

#1 Security Vehicle in most desert crossings!
I admit, I stopped for a pre-crossing time-out to get my head on right.
Cool.
Needed it too, saw some odd mirages on (floating slightly above) the Great Salt Flats.
While not for the faint of heart, I was on the phone for almost the entire crossing.
So . . . how rough is that then, really?

Hey Mr. Bonton!
Congrats on hitting the road. In Kansas, you gotta see the Corn Palace. It's about the only sight to see other than corn fields.
I'll give you a call later in the week and see how things are shaking.

I want an autographed first edition of your travelogue. Don't forget to look me up when you hit South Cakalakky.
ok, all right, no more side views of the truck, please
Thanks for the blog-link. Where are the photos of the juke-joint babes you are slaying along the way? The married-with-kids set joneses for more....

More pictures of the truck in front of non-descript buildings. More pictures of the truck. I love those. Gives me the true sense of America. How about some interior shots. Like of the speed-o-meter. Or the fuel gauge. Doing 130 mph on below E. That would be my favorite request...
